Lavendar Lemonade
I hesitate to call this a recipe, because its really a technique. You could try this with mint, or basil, or whatever you are game for! But I wanted to lay it all out because it is SO easy, and makes regular lemonade super special.
You may be prepping for a baby shower, a rehearsal dinner, lunch with the girls, or maybe you just want to fancy up your picnic. Whatever you make it for, your friends and family will be impressed with your chic-ness! For real, give it a try.
Lavender Lemonade
Yield: 8 cups
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons dried culinary Lavender
1 cup sugar
2 cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups lemon juice (approx 6 lemons)
4 cups cold water
Procedure:
In a bowl or large measuring cup, mix lavender and sugar. Pour the boiling water over the top and mix with a spoon just to wet all the ingredients.
Immediately cover with a plate, lid, or foil, and allow to steep for 1 hour.
After it has steeped, stir well until the sugar has dissolved fully. Strain the infused sugar water into your final vessel. Add the lemon juice and 4 cups of cold water. Stir, taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more water if desired.
And there you go… Told you it was easy!
Now go be fancy!
